AMA Update

Following the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency, the American Medical Association’s flagship podcast, “COVID-19 Update,” transitioned to “AMA Update.” The pivot presented an opportunity to broaden the podcast’s focus and fine-tune its distribution, format, length, and more to improve discovery and audience engagement.

Results

Over the nearly 300 episodes I wrote and helped to produce, we succeeded in more than doubling our average views per episode and average view duration. We also quadrupled our number of subscribers to over 250K, thanks in part to celebrity shout-outs from Patton Oswalt and Octavia Spencer, which earned us a Silver Play Button from YouTube.
